Hi!

HELLO!

My vocations

Being a perinatal nurse and doula allows me to have an even bigger and bigger perspective. I will really be able to inform you on both sides of the coin and precisely to offer you more strategies. As a nurse in the delivery room and on the postpartum unit (after birth), I have a lot of experience in supporting mums and dads. I followed as many moms who used natural methods as moms who opted for epidurals.  I could give you a privileged insight into how it goes in the hospital. I have been at the bedside of mothers during epidurals and caesarean sections. I had the honor of being there in the very first moments of the baby's life and giving first aid. I have supported many mothers to breastfeed or  give the bottle. I answered the concerns and multiple questions of the families in addition to preparing them for their return home.

Like Mom

Moreover, with my experience as a Mom and during my many exchanges with moms, I can really speak to you with my heart and connect with you.

My story

I have always loved newborns and have an interest in everything related to pregnancy and childbirth. During my nursing studies as well as during a humanitarian trip to Cameroon, I followed a few pregnant mothers and attended childbirth. It really gave me the sting.

Pregnant with my first baby, I had so many questions! In addition, with all the information on the internet, I felt at times overwhelmed or lost between all the different approaches. There are so many unknowns waiting for a birth. I had thought about taking prenatal classes, but lack of time I plunged into my books. To do again, let me tell you that I would be the first to register!

The delivery went well, however the breastfeeding did not work and it was very difficult for me. What kind of mother I was going to  to be, if I were not  not even able to breastfeed my child! ''. With yo-yo hormones and lack of sleep, let's say I had a nasty baby blues. It reaffirmed my willingness to support women in these times.

Over the course of my reading, my childbirths and my children (four!), I have learned a lot of lessons. Finally having a little time after my third child, I enrolled in a Doula course at Mère et Monde. I loved this training so much. It was an eye opener for me and I am even more passionate than ever. I even chose to change my career direction and now I work as a nurse in the delivery room and on the postpartum unit (the unit on which we recover after childbirth). I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful vocation and each time I feel  privileged and humble to attend this wonderful and emotional moment.

My trainings

  • Nurse (since 2009). I am currently working as a nurse in the delivery room and on the postpartum unit (after delivery).  Previously, I worked in pediatrics, intensive care and community settings, in CLSCs.

  • Doula training, given by Mother and world

  • 20-hour breastfeeding training

  • Mom (and yes, it takes a capital M because it's quite a title) of 4 beautiful children. Training in the school of life so to speak !!
